The Drug Store Project is a comprehensive middle school drug prevention program designed to educate youth about the dangers of substance use and abuse. Here in South Lake Tahoe, The Drug Store Project is in its 18th year (COVID caused the cancellation of last year's event) and continues to be the single largest collaborative prevention activity that is conducted in our area. Because we are unable to safely meet this year in person, we will be presenting a video production to our youth as we work with our agencies in the community!
Because our event was cancelled last April, the population being served this year will be our: 6th and 7th grade students, South Lake Tahoe, CA
Video presentation: April, 2021

The Drug Store Project is a day-long, anti-drug/anti-destructive behavior event. A planning process of one year which includes 45+ agencies-service clubs, and 225 volunteers on an annual basis. These combined efforts have provided realty-based scenarios for 325 sixth-grade youth annually since 2003.

Data is important for information and improvement/ As part of our program, we collect pre and post event survey information from participating youth, parents, and event personnel in order to better serve the needs of our community. We consistently see a growth in information learned by our youth and many express that they are more connected with the agencies which serve them.

Very important to improving the program is evaluating what our youth learn and what suggestions they have on improving our delivery. Each year, youth complete a pre-event and post-event survey. The difference in the two surveys is that we ask youth their opinions about the program they experienced in the post-event survey. This year's efforts include current 7th graders as complications with COVID prevented our live event in 2020.
Pre-event Surveys for the April 2021 presentation by school and grade level. Students, please take the approriate survey according to your class THIS current school year.
